The homeowner wanted to raise the height of her ceiling as part of a new kitchen remodel. Her home is historically recognized so the existing roof was not to be touched. A simple continuous arched ceiling opens up the space without disturbing the roof and now links the rear yard with a patio in the front that has views to the pacific.
