The owners wanted a modern home that took advantage of the site's expansive view of the hollywood hills. While the design of the street facing facade had to adhere to a strict local design review board, the house begins to open up and invite more natural light as you move towards the back where the connection to the exterior is maximized. A series of louvered eaves, which provide shade and help frame views, are unified by a steel space frame at the edge of the roof. A restrained material palette keeps the focus on the views.
